It's been a few years since the shop closed, although the web site has continued to operate. I won't bore you with the details of what I've been doing since 2006 (those of you who just have to know will get a glimpse in my blog).

After having been self-employed for so long, the last few years have been a difficult transition period for me. Like most people my age, I have a mortgage to feed, and when you find yourself unemployed (and you're over 50), it's not easy to find some other work to do. As I sit down and write this, I'm still looking for some full-time work. I have a part-time job, but that's not enough to pay the bills. Urgh. I hope that you don't have to go through this - it's not any fun at all (maybe character building?).

My lovely wife has been gently nudging me to get involved with Joomla! (in case you're wondering, the exclamation mark is part of the name ). I had been unhappy about my previous site for years, but getting it updated was going to cost a lot of money (which I don't have), so using this free CMS software has allowed me to create my own site for little cost (and it has the functions I want!). Fabulous. I must mention also that all the fancy customizing was done by Norm Douglas at www.netreach.com.au. I recommend Norm to anyone looking to create a web site.

You will notice that there are a lot of anime DVDs on this site, with many listed from the US. I'm happy to get whatever you want, as long as it is legit (as in not a bootleg) and that you are the appropriate age for the genre you want (you must be over 18 years of age to get the "R"-rated ones). I've decided to spend some serious hours getting this new site up and running. My great hope is that over time I will once again have an active client community, although this time it will be tied to this web site and not to a physical retail shop. I very much welcome your feedback and thoughts about what I'm doing, and what you would like to see in the future.
