Content - Frequently Asked Questions

IMPORTANT!

I very much would value your thoughts about what products you would like me to carry. If you think there is something which I should have available on this site, then please let me know. When I had a retail shop with 100 square metres of space, I had room to stock a great many items. Now, being purely an online operation, things are different. My hope is that as the anime community grows on this site, so will the product range. Please let me know your thoughts. You'll find more about this in the "I'd Like To Ask You Some Questions"section of this FAQ.

Anime DVDs:
You will notice that this site is mainly geared towards selling Japanese animation items, particularly anime DVDs. I also sell some Western animation artwork and some Australian comicstrips, which you will find when you click on the Shop link.

"Anime" is nothing more than the Japanese word for an animated film, so all anime titles which you will find on this site are animated films. Almost all of these films are made in Japan, although an increasing amount of Asian animated films are being made in Korea and China.

Anime released in Australia is generally region 4. US-released anime is generally region 1. This will be of no concern to you if you have a multi-region DVD player, since your player will play DVDs from any country in the world. If you are unsure as to whether your DVD player is multi-region or not, read the manual that came with the player, or contact the manufacturer, or borrow a DVD from another region from a friend and see what happens.

Please be aware that an Australian DVD player which only plays region 4 DVDs will not play a US DVD which is region 1. I suspect that this fuss about region codes is fast becoming a thing of the past, since so many multi-region DVD players are now available, but you should be aware of this before you order any region 1 DVDs from me. I will not refund or exchange a region 1 DVD if your player can only play region 4, so please be certain of this before you start ordering Tongue out

Artwork:
Western artwork is mainly the cels and drawings which I have left over from when my retail shop was in operation. When the shop started in 1991, that was all that I sold. The gradual move over to anime items happened over the course of many years. I don't have many Western cels or drawings left - what you see is what you get. Each one comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Japanese artwork is cels and drawings which I bought on my trips to Japan some years ago. Again, I do not have many left.

Australian comic strips are all originals. These are the ones which were drawn by the original artist and then published in the newspapers. Again, I only have a few left.

Books:
Most of the books you will find are either graphic novels or manga. I do have a few Japanese anime art books left in stock, but not many. The manga and novels are in English, whilst the Japanese art books are in Japanese unless otherwise noted. A lot of anime started life as a graphic novel, which was then made into an animated film. There are now a great many to choose from - great news for English-only reading fans!
CD soundtracks:
Again, only a few left. There are a great many anime CD soundtracks available.

Too hot for eBay!

As I was sorting through items for listing on eBay, I came across some adult product which I couldn't put there. Here is a list of those  anime products. Please be aware that you must be over 18 years of age to order any of these items from me! I only have one of each of these. They are available now for immediate delivery.

Oz anime permanent price reductions!

The good folks at Madman have announced some permanent price reductions on selected Australian anime titles. Sure, these ones have been around for a while, but saving some money is a good thing, right Smile

Some US anime titles which you might have missed

search_databaseOne of the challenges when you have a web site which contains a lot of titles is that many of the good ones tend to get buried amongst all the dross. I presently have about 1,800 US anime DVDs listed, along with about 900 Australian ones. The following list is non-hentai titles which are not available in Australia, but which I should still be able to get from the US. Happy hunting!
